Causes Of Fatigue

The causes of fatigue are many and varied. In truth, if you are experiencing fatigue, the cause could be just about anything. The body's natural energy level is maintained by a delicate balance. If this balance is disrupted then you could have fatigue symptoms.

Causes of fatigue

The causes of extreme fatigue could be more than that. Serious health conditions can come with fatigue so severe that it interferes with normal functioning. While many people claim to feel fatigued regularly, fatigue to this extent is impossible to ignore.

The reasons for fatigue may be physical or they may be mental. Taking a look at one situation that could cause of each type of fatigue will help you to understand the variety of causes that fatigue can have. If you want to figure out what is causing fatigue then you need to find other symptoms beyond the fact that you feel tired.

Depression

This mental affliction causes fatigue in many who suffer from it. Depression is an ongoing feeling of sadness, hopelessness, and a loss of interest in life. Even a diagnosis of depression, however, is not the end of the story. Depression may be causing fatigue but you also have to figure out what is causing the depression.

It could be a chemical imbalance in the brain or even a lack of sufficient sunlight as in seasonal affective disorder. The point is that fatigue can have mental or physical underlying causes. Depression is just an example from the mental side of fatigue causes.

Malnutrition

Malnutrition can cause fatigue as well. Malnutrition is simply not getting the food one needs to function well. There are many kinds of malnourishment and most can lead to fatigue.

A person may be deficient in a particular vitamin or nutrient. This can lead to fatigue. Or a person may be not be eating enough calories in general and this lack of sufficient fuel for the body will understandably lead to tiredness. Malnourishment, anemia, and many other afflictions with physical roots may be contributing to fatigue symptoms.

There is an almost endless list of possible causes of fatigue. These causes may be physical, mental, or a combination of the two. One thing that everyone should know is that constant fatigue is not a natural state. It is a sign that something is off and should be investigated further. When you find the cause of fatigue, the cure is usually not far behind.
